The office

Eleven people who answer the phone.

Thalassine is not a platform and not a lifestyle brand. It is a charter office in Piraeus with a second desk in Monaco, and it is small on purpose.

We were founded on a simple, slightly unfashionable idea: that the person handling your summer should have stood on the deck, met the captain, and eaten in the cockpit before recommending anything.

That is still the whole business. Every yacht on our list has been visited by someone here. Every chef has cooked for one of us. When a client asks whether the crew is any good, the answer comes from memory, not from a brochure.

We work for the charterer, and we say so in writing. Where a commission exists on the owner's side, it is disclosed before you sign. It has cost us business. It is also why the same families come back each spring.

Seventeen seasons

Slowly, and mostly by word of mouth.

2009

Four boats and a landline

Started on Akti Themistokleous with a handful of Greek owners who trusted us with their summers. Two of them are still on our books.

2014

West

Clients began asking for the Tyrrhenian and the Balearics. We spent two seasons on those coasts before we listed a single yacht there.

2018

Monaco

A second desk, opened for the owners and captains rather than the show. It is where the contracts and the escrow now sit.

2021

Winter

The Caribbean programme, built quietly over three years so that the same office answers in January as in July.

Who you deal with

Four names, and the rest of us.

Eleni Vasilaki

Founder

Grew up on her father's caïque off Hydra. Twenty-two seasons chartering; still walks every new yacht herself.

Marc Delaunay

Monaco desk

Fifteen years on the owner's side of charter contracts. Handles terms, escrow and the arguments you never hear about.

Sofia Karras

Charter management

Runs the season calendar. Knows which captain has the tender you need and which marina will take you at short notice.

Tomas Rukavina

Adriatic & crew

Ex-chief officer, 70-metre motor. Places permanent crew and keeps the shipyard relationships in Split and Trogir.

Come and see us on the quay, or just write.
